Ryan made his First Holy Communion over the weekend. It was also his first public speaking engagement and he was fantastic. We were very proud. We also recommendeded that they get a step for the younger speakers!

In the last game of the season for the Cabinteely FC Under 9’s team, Ryan held the captaincy for the first time. He’s quite the leader – I was impressed!  The drew 2-2 with a 3rd goal for Cabinteely disallowed. Ryan floated the ball into the back of the net from a set piece and almost had a second goal from a fantastic bicycle kick which struck the side and cross bars!

The team have worked really hard this season, coming as they did from the bottom of the league to close out in 2nd place. Brilliant!

Shouting into her phone with no regard for those trying to enjoy a coffee next to her (i.e., me) with an unintelligible stream of words that went something like this… ”Yeah, but no, but yeah and then loike, he said I was hot and intell loike, and like I said roight, loike!”

I can’t stand women of a certain age!

Walking along the West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz is a superb way to while away a day. Surfers dot the bay and joggers, cyclists and all manner of walkers stroll back and forth. Of course, suncream should be essential which is why I have very sunburnt arms and face, aka, an Irish Tan.  I didn’t take by DSLR with me this time out (shock!) so this was shot on a 12MP Nokia N8.
